Stephen Marbury was born on the 20thFebruary 1977 as the sixth of seven children. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. In his youth he studied at the Abraham Lincoln High School in New York. He was awarded the prestigious New York State Mr. Basketball title right out of his senior year. Mr. Basketball is the largest award given annually by the New York Basketball Coaches Association to a veteran high school player.
