South Carolina Man Found Guilty Of Killing Edison Speedway Worker During Robbery: Prosecutor

Marcus A. Wright, 27, was convicted on Tuesday, Sept. 12 by a jury of the murder of John Bertram, according toMiddlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone. The murder occurred on Dec. 20, 2018. Bertram was shot to death whileworking as an employee of the Speedway Gas Station on Amboy Avenue, inEdison.

The murder occurred on Dec. 20, 2018.

Bertram was shot to death while working as an employee of the Speedway Gas Station on Amboy Avenue, in Edison. 

On Jan. 3, 2019, Wright was located in Beaufort, South Carolina and placed under arrest.

Wright was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree felony murder, first-degree armed robbery, first-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery and weapons offenses, Ciccone said.

Sentencing is currently scheduled in New Brunswick on Nov. 1
