The Pittsburgh Pirates have traded away another fan favorite, sending pitcher Jameson Taillon to the New York Yankees in exchange for four prospects.

Taillon will be reunited with former teammate Gerrit Cole.

In return for Taillon, the Pirates will receive four players, including three of the Yankees' Top-20 prospects.

Taillon was the Bucs Opening Day starter in 2019 but his season was cut short with an injury, which resulted in him having a second Tommy John surgery.

Since Christmas, this is the third major trade that new Pirates GM Ben Cherington has made, previously trading away first baseman Josh Bell and pitcher Joe Musgrove.
