The owner and operator of 15 regional McDonald’s restaurants presented a check to the Ronald McDonald house for over $11,000 Thursday.

Owner Joe Nyanko presented a check to the president of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Penn at the East Plank Road location in Altoona.

The money raised came from a campaign held earlier this year where ten cents from each Minute Maid frozen slushie sold in central Pennsylvania was set aside.

“We will be doing it again next year," Nyanko said. "I hope that we can even double that money, because there are a lot of families out there that need the help and, quite frankly, the houses themselves need the help to. So, I’m just really proud of the work that we’ve all done to get to this point.”

RMHC of Mid-Penn provides grants to local non-profit organizations that help children across central Pennsylvania live happier, healthier and more productive lives.
