Johnstown police say they are still searching for the suspect accused of shooting a woman, who then crashed her car, in Dale Borough last week.

Authorities say Tyree Carter is alleged to have shot the woman on the night of January 29th, following a confrontation in the area of David Street.

Police say surveillance video reportedly showed Carter approach the victim's vehicle and begin to damage it.

When the victim drove away, police say Carter allegedly shot at the car, striking the victim in the head.

Police say the passenger of the vehicle allegedly remembered hearing a "popping" sound prior to the crash.

According to an updated criminal affidavit, police say they spoke with the victim earlier this week, at which time she reportedly stated that she remembered Carter shooting her while she was inside the vehicle.

Police say she also recalled being threatened by Carter in the weeks before the crash.

Authorities say that when officers spoke with the victim's family, they reportedly identified Carter as someone whom she allegedly had a prior relationship with.

Police also noted that, according to the family, Carter had an alleged history of abusing the victim.

Authorities say officers discovered that Carter had a history of firearms-related offenses and his description reportedly matched that of the suspect in the surveillance footage.

According to documents obtained by 6 News, police executed a search warrant at Carter's Oak Street residence last Thursday in search of any firearms, ammunition, cell phones and clothing related to the investigation.

Police say no items were seized and they are continuing to search for him.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to contact 911, or the non-emergency number in Cambria County at 814-472-2100, and ask for Johnstown Police.

According to online court records, Carter faces various charges, including multiple counts of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and illegal firearms possession.
