According to the commission, a flamingo was brought to them on Monday, injured by a snapping turtle.

One of the individuals who was at the scene, Courtney Richer, describes what transpired around 8:30 a.m.:

We walked over and there was a small group of people. They said 15 minutes before that a snapping Turtle in the pond had attacked the bird injuring it's leg and was trying to pull it under the water."

Luckily, a brave bystander, rescuing the flamingo from a terrible fate:

"The man holding the flamingo apparently had gone in the water to stop it from drowning," says Richer.

The PA Game Commission states they now have that flamingo in their care and the Game Warden is trying to decide what is best for the flamingo moving forward.

The other flamingo is still currently at the Long Lane Pond in St. Thomas Township.

It is unclear what will happen with that final flamingo.
