Eva Ionesco’s parents are Irina Ionesco and Miklos Berlnyi. His mother is a popular photographer born in Paris on September 3, 1930 to Romanian immigrants.
Her mother made it a custom that for the fact that she was a photographer, Eva had to be the main subject of her work. As a child, she had no say in what her mother had imposed on her and had very little room for an argument. Without her lawful consent, Irina Ionesco would take sensitive photos of her daughter, and it all started when Eva was just four years old. Eva Ionesco not only modeled for her mother, she also modeled for other photographers, including the famous French nude photographer Jacques Bourboulon. Images of young Eva appearing nude in several publications have raised controversy, but they have also opened up filmmaking prospects for the young model.
In October 1976, Eva became the youngest model ever to cover and appear on Playboy magazine. She also appeared nude on the cover page of the October 1976 Italian issue. Two years later, her nudity photos appeared again in another adult magazine, this time in the November 1978 Spanish edition of Luxury Apartment . His photo was also used on the cover page of an edition of the German magazine Der Spiegel.

She landed various acting roles in the 80s and 90s, including Meurtres à domicile (1981), Les Nanas (1984), L’amoureuse (1987), Parisian War Song (1991), Commenter les gens? (1992), Pullman Paradise (1995), Darling Freedom (1996), The Ice Rink (1999) and many others at the start of the new millennium.
Eva started directing films in 2006. The first film she directed was La LoIde la Forêt. In 2010, she directed My Little Princess. The film was largely inspired by Eva Ionescorrelationship with her mother Irina Ionesco. Eva also co-wrote the film starring Isabelle Huppert as Hanna Giurgiu, the photographer who uses her underage daughter as a tool for her erotic photographs.
Once again, Eva Ionesco and Isabelle Huppert worked together, this time in the 2019 film directed by Ionesco and titled Golden Youth. The film is the third film directed by Eva Ionesco.

Eva Ionesco has a son named Lucas Ionesco. She had Lucas from one of her past relationships and raised him as a single mother before meeting Simon Liberati. Lucas was born on January 28, 1995 and became a French actor.
