Three people were arrested following one of the largest drug busts in Lancaster County history, according to the district attorney's office.

NBC affiliate WGAL reports that task force agents seized nearly 3 pounds of heroin and another 2 pounds of pure fentanyl last week.

County officials told WGAL the drugs were prepared and packaged for street sale.

The district attorney's office said the task force was tipped off about a "major movement of heroin" happening near a shopping center along Lititz Pike.

“Under the spotlight and assistance of a National Guard helicopter, Drug Task Force detectives boxed in a pair of vehicles involved in the drug movement and arrested everyone inside the vehicles,” DA spokesman Brett Hambright told WGAL. “One of the drivers, 26-year-old Eric Moran, attempted to flee, nearly striking detectives and other civilians in a parking lot where the deal took place.”

According to WGAL, the estimated street value of the drugs is more than $500,000. Authorities said about 9,800 bags were branded with a “CATCH UP” stamp.

Moran, along with 32-year-old Luis Mercado and 27-year-old Katherine Joubert, were charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and conspiracy, WGAL reports.

Authorities said all three suspects are from Philadelphia. They're being held at the Lancaster County Jail on $2 million bail each.
